domain deletion cycle is so simple ,
we are going to explain how the domain get dropped and the stages that
the domain go trough before the complete deletion :
1- Registration : after you register
a domain name, it is yours you control the forward , update dns, whois
information sell it or rent it ...., the only obligation you have to
keep the domain name is you need to pay the renewal fee , it vary
between registrars but usually you pay the fee ones a year, in your
registrar control panel they always show you the date of expiration
started from the day of registration, some of registrar have an auto
renewal in case you forget the renewal date or you were busy, the auto
renewal tool feature will take care of the renewal when ever the renewal
time is up for the domains( check your registrar control panel and set
Auto renewal on ON for your important domains name that you don't want
to lose
2- Notification : if your domain
name is closer between 60 to 30 days (depend on the registrars) they
will send you a notification to remind you that the specified domain
name is up to renewal , you got 30 to 60 days depend on the notification
sent to you to renewal the domain name, if you have Auto renewal set on
ON and you have sufficient funds in your Credit card provided the day of
the registration of the domain name , you are fine , if not then you
need to manually renewal the domain name if you don't want to lose it
3- Place on HOLD :
once you let the domain expire without renewal the registrar
change the information (status to On Hold, name servers will be changed
) and the domain name will not forward to your existing website no more
means all the visitors that know your website they can not reach it by
typing your domain name in internet explorer, but don't worry there
is the possibility to reactivate your domain name but you need
to pay the renewal fee depend on the registrar the grace period vary so
be advised to login to your registrar account and look at FAQ or help
section for how long you still have to renewal the domain or contact the
support team of your registrar and how much you have to pay for the
penalty fee
4 - Pending
deletion : there is no way that you can get your domain name
if this stage comes, in the the whois of your domain name change the
status to Pending deletion that status comes after the grace period is
up and you did not pay the fee ( renewal and penalty fee ) now the
domain name will stay approximately to 5 days in that status and the
registrar will delete the domain name
5- Available
: this is where it ends up again , the domain name will be
available to any one who wants to register it , if the domain name is a
nice domain usually people who visit the deleted domain name section,
and they find your domain listed as pending to be deleted , they will
back order it if they like it , so you have a competition if you want to
register the domain name
as you see that is why it's called
